Soil can be described as a collection of unconsolidated mineral and organic material that serves as a natural medium for the growth of vegetation on the earth's surface. Soil properties are influenced by time, topography, climate, and living matter acting upon parent material. This section describes the activities associated with the identification, mapping, and management of soils within the province.
