Location of Ixodes spp. Found and Lyme Disease Status

2001 8 Ixodes spp. (7 Ix. scapularis & 1 Ix. muris). 1 Ix. scapularis positive for LD.

2002 4 Ixodes spp. (3 Ix. scapularis & 1 Ix. ricinus). No ticks positive for LD.

2003 16 Ixodes spp. (15 Ix. scapularis & 1 Ix. muris). 5 Ix. scapularis from one animal. Two Ix. scapularis positive for LD.

2004 16 Ixodes spp. (14 lx. scapularis & 2 lx. cookei). 1 lx. scapularis positive for LD and 1 lx. scapularis positive for HGE. In addition, a dog from Lourdes was diagnosed with LD. This dog has a history of a tick removed by owner, but not submitted for identification or testing.

2005 6 Ixodes spp. (3 Ix. scapularis & 3 Ix. muris). No ticks positive for LD.

2006 21 Ixodes spp. (9 Ix. scapularis, 3 Ix. muris, 1 lx. marxi & 1 lx. spp.). 1 lx. marxi sent for identification only. 1 lx. scapularis positive for LD.

2007 12 Ixodes spp. (11 Ix. scapularis & 1 Ix. muris). 1 lx. scapularis positive for LD from dog that traveled along eastern seaboard of USA; 1 lx. texanus was collected from St. Pierre and sent for identification only.

2008 11 Ixodes spp. (9 Ix. scapularis; 2 Ix. muris). 4 Ix. scapularis positive for LD. 1 LD positive dog had recently returned from Eastern Ontario (not on the map); 1 LD positive Ix. scapularis was collected from a cat

2009 16 Ixodes spp. (12 Ix. scapularis; 4 Ix. muris). 3 Ix. scapularis positive for LD (2 were found on dogs and 1 was found on a cat); 1 Ix. scapularis positive for HGA; 1 Amblyomma americanum was found on a puppy that had recently been imported from the USA.

2010 33 Ixodes spp. (28 Ix. scapularis; 5 Ix. muris), 6 Ix. scapularis positive for LD, 1 Ix. scapularis positive for HGA.

2011: 39 ixodes spp. (35 I. scapularis; 4 I. muris), 12 I. scapularis positive for LD (5 from a cat; 6 from dogs), 2 I.
scapularis
positive for HGA. NOTE: 1 I. scapularis tested positive for BOTH LD and HGA

2012: 42 Ixodes sp. (38 I. scapularis*, 4 I. muris**); * 3 I scapularis were found on humans; ** 1 I. muris found on human; 8 I. scapularis positive for LD only (2 from cats; 5 from dogs, 1 from human); 2 I. scapularis tested positive for BOTH LD and HGA***

2013: 33 Ixodes spp.  (25 Ixodes scapularis*; 3  Ixodes muris); * 3 Ixodes scapularis were found on humans; 3 Ixodes scapularis positive for LD only (1 from a cats; 2 from dogs);
1 Ixodes scapularis positive for HGA only (from a cat); 2 Ixodes scapularis tested positive for BOTH LD and HGA; (1 from a cat; 1 from a dog)

2014: 39 Ixodes spp. (33 Ixodes scapularis; 6 Ixodes muris); 5 Ixodes scapularis were positive for LD.

2015: 25 Ixodes spp. (17 Ixodes scapularis; 8 Ixodes muris); 0 Ixodes scapularis were positive for LD.
